About Janie
I am originally from Walterboro, SC I grew up just outside of city limits in a small town called Ritter. I enjoy reading, spending time with my grandkids (3), traveling, cooking and playing softball. I’ve worked in the healthcare field for many years starting off with my CNA certification. I worked in that field in a nursing home setting for 8yrs. From there I accepted the position of Activity Director at the same establishment where I obtained my certification through the National Certification Council For Activity Professionals. I would go on to work in that field for 5yrs. before transitioning to mental health and substance abuse hospital where I would gain countless hours of on the job training and assessments testing for Mental/ Behavioral Health Tech., CPI, BLS. After working in many different fields of healthcare I became drawn to psych as being one of my passion followed by substance abuse. I wanted to learn more, I had to learn more. I started going to conferences and reading more about the thin line between mental health and substance abuse. I was immediately intrigued by the HOTE being an all women facility, it provides a more intimate safe space for each woman here to focus on their healing and recovery. As an RA here I feel as though I help bridge the gap in recovery.
